Jonny Garrett creates bespoke videos to support independents and cask ale for CAMRA

The award-winning beer writer and founder of Youtube’s popular Craft Beer Channel, Jonny Garrett, has created two new and informative video guides explaining key issues impacting brewers and pubs and what we as drinkers can do to support them.

The guides have been developed for CAMRA’s education platform Learn & Discover, which is home to a wealth of content from writers, educators and experts. New guides, articles, videos and audio content are added every week exploring everything there is to know about beer, cider, perry and pubs. For connoisseurs wishing to deep dive further into the world of beer and cider, CAMRA also offers in-depth articles exclusively for members*.

These freely available video guides include:

  • What can I do to champion cask ale? – Jonny talks us through how we can all make a difference by supporting cask beer and discusses why is cask ale so important to the British beer industry.

CAMRA is committed to supporting cask ale and independent pubs and breweries as they emerge from nearly two years of lockdown and closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s currently running its Summer of Pub campaign which aims to celebrate the first summer without restrictions.

Hundreds of independent pubs and breweries across the country are involved and getting involved is as easy as visiting your local for a pint. People can participate by checking out the new video content and finding events near them – the Summer of Pub interactive map shows which pubs, clubs and taprooms are running events throughout the summer. From pub quizzes and live music to jubilee parties and tap takeovers, there is plenty to look forward to this summer!

Alex Metcalfe, CAMRA’s Learning & Discovery Manager, said: “The Learn & Discover platform continues to grow and in partnering with such a breadth of talented beer writers and creatives, the quality never ceases to astound me. I think supporting independents and the cask beer sector is something we can all really get behind. Jonny Garret’s latest videos are just the start of what is yet to come over the next few months, and I am really excited to share them.”
