The Guild is sad to hear about the passing of International member Jos Brouwer.
Self described as a “Beer Activist”, Jos became actively involved in Dutch consumer organisation PINT in the early 80s, before becoming Editor-in-Chief of their magazine. He was later elected to PINT’s National Executive, representing the organisation at the EBCU’s first meeting in 1990. Jos served as EBCU Vice Chair from 2008 and 2013, where he played an important role in helping shape European standards on something else he was well known for – beer judging. Jos’ beer judging expertise was globally respected, with invitations to judge taking him all over the world including the UK, Japan and the US.
