Katy Moses becomes BII trustee

Katy Moses

The BII are delighted to announce that Katy Moses, Managing Director of KAM Media, a boutique research agency specialising in hospitality and the pub industry, has joined their board of trustees.

As a charity giving trusted support to people at the heart of great pubs, the trustees provide invaluable guidance and insight from their own business and sector knowledge to help shape the future of the BII.

Katy commented: “My love of the pub industry is well known, so it goes without saying that I am absolutely thrilled to have been asked to be a trustee of the BII.

“I have long known the BII to be an excellent support network for licensees and I look forward to working with Steve and the BII team to ensure that we stay relevant and keep evolving to continue to meet the needs of our members, especially given the current crisis.”

Katy has run bespoke and syndicated research programmes for both pub companies and on-trade suppliers, such as Punch, Ei Group, Shepherd Neame, Wells & Co, Britvic, Carlsberg, Matthew Clark and Accolade Wines.

She was also the brains behind industry benchmarking programme ‘The Licensee Index’ (TLI), bringing together 20+ tenanted pub companies to understand how to better deliver against the needs of their licensees.

Katy is an advisor for both Pub Aid and Only a Pavement Away charities. She is also a judge of the BII Licensee of the Year Award 2020 & the Quality Food Awards as well as being proud to volunteer her time as a Plan B Mentor, supporting women in the hospitality industry.

Katy is also the driving force behind Pedalling for Pubs, the hospitality initiative that raises money for the Licensed Trade Charity and Only a Pavement Away, which was due to see 25 on-trade executives cycle across Jordon this summer, one of whom is the BII’s CEO, Steven Alton:

“I am really excited to welcome Katy to the board of trustees at the BII. The wealth of experience and insight she brings, as well as her drive and sense of humour will add another dimension to an already impressive team. Her contribution will be vital, especially in these challenging times for our industry.”

Notes to editors:

The BII is the leading independent licensee support organisation for individuals working in hospitality, with over 8,000 individual members running premises across the UK – predominantly tenanted, leased, managed and freehold pubs.

The organisation provides integral helplines, online business support, and guidance on key industry issues, face-to-face networking opportunities and savings on a range of supply deals for its members. It is the only organisation of its kind to represent the individuals working at the front line of licensed retail.
