Krombacher Pils (4.8% ABV), the number one premium beer in Germany, is continuing its UK growth with a national listing of a 50-litre keg with drinks wholesaler Matthew Clark.
From January, the national drinks wholesaler, will be offering Krombacher Pils in 50-litre keg to pubs and restaurants across the country.
The keg joins the 330ml non-returnable bottle of Krombacher Pils that Matthew Clark has listed in its Boutique Beer brochure for the last two years.
Krombacher Pils is brewed at the Krombacher Brewery, which has been in the hands of the Schadeberg family for generations.
The family have as much passion for the beer today, as the generation that discovered the vital ingredient that makes the beer unique, the Krombach mountain spring (Felsquellwasser), back in 1803.
Speaking about the news, UK Sales Director Stephan Kofler, said: “This listing of Krombacher Pils in keg at the leading drinks wholesaler Matthew Clark will give us truly national coverage.
“The UK has been identified as a strategic market for Krombacher and this latest listing will support plans for even further volume growth.”
Morgenrot (one of the two UK Importers of Krombacher) Sales Director, Graham Archibald said: “Krombacher simply oozes German quality and is definitely a brand to watch in 2015 after another year of incredible growth.
“The listing of the Pils in draught format will provide the perfect launchpad for next year and we are excited to be working with the dedicated Matthew Clark team to make it a leading star in the UK on-trade.”
Krombacher Pils has reported rapid growth in the UK with volume sales up by 47% for the 12 months of 2014.

Krombacher Pils is the best selling premium beer in Germany with 10.1% market share. It is brewed to 4.8% ABV and has a balance of hop and malt with a distinct crisp finish.
Krombacher Weizen is a naturally cloudy style of wheat beer with a unique tangy flavour at 5.3% ABV
Krombacher Dark, the full bodied dark beer, uses a selection of high roasted malts and has a 4.3% ABV
Krombacher Hell is available in Draught in 30-litre keg. It is a full-bodied, 5% ABV and its subtle touch of hops ensures it is less bitter
Krombacher is available in Draught in 50ltr Pils, 30ltr Dark and 30ltr Weizen
In bottled it is available in 24 x 33cl Pils, 12 x 50cl Pils, 12 x 50cl Dark and 12 x 50cl Weizen
