We’re pleased to announce that our Audit Ale took Bronze in the Barley Wines and Strong Ale category at the Great British Beer Festival Winter 2020 held in Birmingham this week.
Brewed at Lacons’ Falcon Brewery in Great Yarmouth, Audit is an 8.0% ABV barley wine, copper in colour with prominent flavours of berry fruits and spice. Deceptively smooth to drink for a strong ale, the finish is satisfyingly warming and sweet.
Audit was crowned Champion Winter Beer of Britain 2019 at the GBBF Winter in Norwich, and demand for the ale has been high over the past 12 months.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in Audit since last year’s award” said Sales Director Ivan Brooks “It was always a popular choice at the local beer festivals due to its rich flavour and relatively low ABV for a barley wine, but we’ve had requests for it from around the UK – one landlord even drove up from Kent after GBBF Winter 2019 to get his hands on a cask!”
CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival Winter is held every February and hosts the finals of the Champion Winter Beer of Britain categories.
