Clayton-le-Moor pub, the Hare and Hounds has unveiled its new look following the completion of a major refurbishment to the tune of £130,000 by award-winning Lancashire brewer, Daniel Thwaites.

In a bid to restore the pub to its former glory, Thwaites alongside new licensees Kath Skellorn and Paul Crook have overseen extensive repairs and improvements to both the interior and exterior frontage, giving the popular establishment a much-needed overhaul, whilst retaining it’s much loved character.

With over 20 years’ experience in the pub industry business partners Kath and Paul have big plans for the Accrington local and are looking forward to bringing it back to life.

Kath said: “We want to make the Hare and Hounds a big success, it’s been through a tough time over the last few years and we’re looking forward to putting the spirit back in to it. We want it to be at the heart of the community, where locals can come, relax and catch up with friends.

“We’re delighted with how the refurbishment has gone, it looks like a brand new place and we hope the punters will like it as much as we do.”

As well as having experienced new landlords the pub also now boasts a brand new bar and food area, a brighter, more modern and inviting interior and a new and improved menu, serving a range of traditional homemade dishes.

Catering to ale lovers the inn will also provide a wide range of Thwaites’ cask ales including the popular 4.1% ABVgolden ale, Wainwright and Nutty Black.

Andrew Buchanan, director of pub operations, commented: “We’re delighted to have Kath and Paul on board at the Hare and Hounds. They have a great amount of experience within the pub industry and we have no doubt that they will succeed in bringing the place to life once again.”
