Established in 1829, Davenports is one of Birmingham’s oldest brands and companies. Pioneers within the brewing industry, the company fought and won, an important ‘beer hawking’ case in the Victoria Courts in 1905. In the 1930’s they were recycling 12,000 bottles per day whilst boasting leading technology within the trade… the company has influenced the culture of Birmingham and put it on the map…people would address letters simply to ‘Davenports, Birmingham’ and it would arrive safely!
