Pioneering craft beer bar group North Bar Ltd is set to take its entire management team on a research trip to Belgium. A three day tour of Brussels and Gent will see the directors and staff visit a vast number of bars and restaurants to study continental cafe-bar service and sample rare Belgian beers.
Since opening their first venue, North Bar, in Leeds in 1997 the award winning group have expanded to operate six bars across Leeds city centre and suburbs. The brand’s identity has grown based on table service, beer range, staff knowledge and diversity of venues.
Director Christian Townsley said “This trip is a fantastic opportunity to thank our managers and chefs for all of their hard work and I’ve no doubt we’ll all come back inspired and full of fresh ideas for the venues. It’s also an chance for our managers to experience continental table service first hand and hopefully discover new beers along the way!”
Director John Gyngell said “Belgium and Germany kick started our passion for craft beer, it’s wonderful to be going back to our roots with our entire management team.”
North Bar beat tough competition across the country this year to win ‘Best Drinks Selection’ in The Publican Awards and is currently undergoing a rebranding exercise which is a strategic part of the North Bar’s growth plan to expand the family of bars and take the brand to new locations.
