Love Lane Brewery has appointed Nick Canning as Executive Chairman following a company restructure.
Canning who was former joint Managing Director of Iceland Foods brings a wealth of management and marketing experience to Love Lane following a tumultuous period of trading throughout the pandemic. The company restructure now sets a path for growth following its latest round of investment.
Canning’s appointment sees Tony Carson step down as Chairman and take up the position of Non-Executive Director.
Founder and Chief Executive Stephen Crawley said, “We would like to thank Tony for the huge contribution he has made to the business including steering us through the pandemic and look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.
“We are delighted to have secured Nick as our Executive Chairman as we now look to continue to build the business. Like many operators in the hospitality sector, we saw a significant drop in sales which had a huge impact on our cashflow. Our speedy action to raise funds has resulted in a company restructure which is now complete and we thank our shareholders for their continued support.”
Love Lane’ resilience has seen the team remain in place and supplier relationships maintained. “Preserving the jobs of our employees was paramount,” said Stephen, “And whilst costs and price pressures remain a challenge our strong management team have a robust plan in place to further develop the business building upon the growing support from consumers for our brands and the loyalty shown from our trade customers.”
Executive Chairman Nick said, “I have been impressed since the outset with what Stephen Crawley has created. The Love Lane Brewery along with the retail Bar and Kitchen are a credit to his vision in building a brand Liverpool and ultimately the North-West could be proud of. The pandemic has had many unforeseen casualties, but I am as excited today, as when I first discovered this project, especially now that the worst of the Covid challenges are behind us.
