Low in Alcohol, Big on Flavour

With one in three visits to pubs and bars now being alcohol-free (KAM), low-alcohol drinks are becoming the drink of choice for many.

Adnams’ best-selling beers and spirits are bursting with bold flavours to pack a punch without the alcohol – perfect for making Dry January a try January.

Fergus Fitzgerald, Production Director at Adnams, commented: “In 2024, the low-alcohol version of our flagship beer, Ghost Ship 0.5% Pale Ale, saw a remarkable increase of over 50% across both volume and value sales (MA), indicating a rising demand for high-quality, low-alcohol alternatives.

From the outset, our goal has been to ensure that our 0.5% version delivers the same rich flavour profile as the original 4.5% beer, which is why we’ve invested in an advanced dealcoholisation process that removes the alcohol post-brewing. Ultimately, the success of the low/no-alcohol category hinges on creating great-tasting products that stand as genuine alternatives to their higher strength counterparts.”

About Adnams

Founded by George and Ernest Adnams in 1872, Adnams began as a Southwold brewery on the Suffolk coast and has been fiercely independent for the last 150 years. In 2010, Adnams became the first brewery in England to build a distillery on the same site. Its pioneering spirit has enabled Adnams to become a distinctive brewer, distiller, wine merchant, retailer, publican, and hotelier. From its Southwold home, Adnams crafts award-winning premium beers and spirits which are available from its retail stores, managed properties, partner pubs, and in outlets nationwide and overseas. Adnams has long taken pride in its heritage and strong values and is committed to running its business sustainably, leaving its footprints in the sand, not on the planet.
