Huddersfield based craft brewery, Magic Rock, has teamed up with gravel bike race GRINDURO to create a special edition Session India Pale Ale. Big Grins (3.9% ABV) will be available at the Germany, Italy, and Wales locations for the weekend-long celebrations of gravel cycling.
The Yorkshire-based brand will also be attending the Wales GRINDURO event, teaming up with Canyon Bikes to hand out its alcohol-free Citra Pale Ale, Freeride (0.5% ABV) to the 600+ participants, at refreshment points during the race.
Richard Norgate at Magic Rock said: “Craft beer and cycling are two very intertwined worlds; we feel there is nothing better than cracking a can after a day on the trails. Magic Rock has always seen cycling as a passion point and always tried to be involved in industry events as well as sponsoring the race team – Paria Magic Rock Racing. It’s exciting to be involved with such a fun-filled event, but even more so to team up with GRINDURO to create this collaboration for this year’s events.
Richard Norgate continues: “Big Grins come in all shapes and sizes, usually caused by blasting down a trail on two wheels whilst hooting and hollering. But of course, it helps if you share that experience with your best buds. Big Grins Pale Ale is a collaboration between Magic Rock and Grinduro, this zesty citrus number will hopefully add to that grin whilst you sip it with your riding buddies after a good day on the hill.”
James Deane at Grinduro said: “Grinduro turned traditional bike racing upside down when it launched in California back in 2015 and riders today are still buzzing about its unique formula. Quite the same can be said for Magic Rock when they launched in 2011 and blew people away with their flavour filled IPA’s.
Magic Rock and Grinduro are brands that work together in tandem, exciting without being exclusive, with a shared belief that cycling is just the substrate from which great memories and friendships are formed… working on the Big Grins collaboration beer has been a riot and I cannot wait for Grinduro fans to enjoy it at Grinduro events this summer!”
GRINDURO is a celebration of cycling, combining the best elements of a mountain bike enduro with a gravel grinder-style road race. However, is not just a bike race. It’s a weekend-long celebration of gravel cycling with as much emphasis on the fun as the ride. The magic happens when you add great food, an art & bike festival, high-quality music and camping in an epic location.
The first location in Eifel, Germany will take place from 5th-7th May 2023. Magic Rock will then be at Machynlleth, Wales from 7th-9th July 2023 providing refreshments at the GRINDURO Village with an on-site bar for the weekend with a wide selection of beers, spirits, and alcoholic free beverages. Magic Rock will be rounding off their involvement with sun and sea in the beautiful climbs of Punt Ala, Tuscany 8 – 10th September 2023, where a can or two of this collab brew will certainly go down a treat with all involved.
