MARSTON’S BECOMES FIRST MAJOR PUB CO TO LAUNCH GAMIFICATION TRAINING WITH ATTENSI

Marston’s PLC has partnered with gamified simulation experts, Attensi, to roll out a cutting-edge digital training app to mark pub reopening

The new app, called Marston’s Skills, has been created to help transform the way employees and pub retail partners engage with learning and career development. Through the app, each player is greeted by 3D avatar team members that introduce them to a series of mini games and challenges to complete, all of which are based on real-life pub scenarios.

The interactive mobile-first app combines gamification through a 3D virtual world with the science behind tried and tested learning methods, driving high engagement to ensure it delivers successful learnings.

Marston’s HR Director, Liam Powell, said: “The partnership with Attensi demonstrates our determination to invest in and grow our people and our business. As we move forward as a focused pub company, we see this platform being an absolute game changer to helping our teams grow their knowledge, experience and careers with us.”

Greg Hull, Business Development Director at Attensi, added: “It has been our privilege to support Marston’s with the largest training rollout in its history. Upskilling over 10,000 people during such a unique period is no mean feat, and we’ve been blown away by the team’s commitment to winning the trust of both staff and customers as we enter a new era for hospitality. We look forward to the next steps on our journey together.”

Since the platform launched in March, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, as supported by pub manager Jack Donnally at The Woodman in Rotherham whose team members have been using the app in the lead up to the pubs re-opening on the 12th  of April. Jack said: “The Attensi app is a fantastic new training platform. It is relevant, engaging and above all else, fun. My team members have really enjoyed going through each module and it has helped solidify our core values as a business upon reopening.”

Part of future-proofing the business, Marston’s will continue to develop this platform in partnership with Attensi, building modules to support key business initiatives.
