Marston’s has become one of the England cricket team’s longest standing commercial partners after agreeing to an extension of its ‘Official Beer’ status. The deal, which runs until 2017, will include the iconic home Investec Ashes Series in 2015.
Marston’s Pedigree, the company’s flagship brand and a number of its other brands are available in nine first class counties including five Test Match grounds. The company has been a supporter of cricket at a grass roots level including a number of regional league and local club sponsorships.
Marston’s Pedigree has promoted its association through extensive promotion in pubs, supermarkets and on-pack and is currently offering customers the chance to win a trip to Australia for the Sydney Ashes Test for two people in the New Year.
Richard Westwood, Managing Director of Marston’s Beer Company said: “This is the longest running commercial sponsorship agreement we have been part of and it has been great to be involved with the ECB during such an unprecedented period of success for the England team. Marston’s Pedigree has experienced increased exposure and sales as a result of the partnership and we are delighted to be extending the support just in advance of the away Ashes series.”
David Collier, Chief Executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, said: “Marston’s is a valued ECB partner and continues to support cricket through mass promotion of the partnership as well as supplying many of our recreational clubs and county grounds. We are delighted to renew the deal which will take their sponsorship of England Cricket to a decade – something both parties are extremely proud of.”
