Leading beer importer Morgenrot has enhanced its exclusive catalogue of unique world brews with the addition of three crafty tipples from South Africa’s celebrated Cape Brewing Company.
Joining the Manchester-based importer’s already much-revered global range, the new trio of beers will be rolled out immediately to the ON and OFF trade, while the brand will also be showcased for the first time at Craft Beer Rising from stand 130, which takes place at the Old Truman Brewery from February 21-23.
Available in cases of 12 in 34cl bottles, the new threesome includes Cape Point Pale Ale, Cape Point Lager and Cape Point India Pale Ale, which are all brewed adhering to Germany’s historic Reinheitsgebot brewing laws.
Cape Point Pale Ale (4.8%ABV) – Slightly malty nose, full of aromatic hop flavours. Fruity, lemony with a touch of passionfruit, lively and refreshing. Premium malts, secret hops, special American Pale Ale yeast.
Cape Point Lager (5.1%ABV) – Crisp and generous, nice balanced speciality malts, slightly hoppy and easy drinking. Premium malts, German noble hops, specially cultured yeast.
Cape Point India Pale Ale (6.5%ABV) – Bitterness is balanced with a strong malt backbone. Fruity with notes of tangerine and lemon. Premium malts, Mandarina Bavaria noble hops, specially cultured yeast.
John Critchley, Morgenrot’s Commercial Director, said:
“We’ve developed a fantastic reputation in the trade in recent years for our craft and world beer portfolio and the addition of the Cape Brewing Company only reinforces this. Their award-winning and flavour-rich beers are brewed with passion and pride and we’re excited to unleash the African trio on UK consumers. With so many South Africans living over here and UK consumers continuously looking to discover new craft beers from around the world, we’re confident the brewery’s provenance, positioning and quality will ensure they are a big success.”
Ross Young, Regional Director CBC, said:
“At CBC we are extremely honoured to form part of Morgenrot’s fantastic beer range launching to the UK. Our globally award-winning beers are crafted and produced by our master brewer, Wolfgang, in our state of the art brewery nestled in the Paarl mountains. We are very excited to now have our Cape Point family of beers travel the globe and reach new markets, with the UK being one of the first territories. We are confident that with the South African community across the UK, and all the tourists that have visited our brewery and the Fairest Cape, our Cape Point beers will transport them back ‘home’ or back to their holiday with every sip.”
About Cape Brewing Company
Based at the heart of the Paarl mountain in South Africa, Cape Brewing Company opened its doors in December 2010 and produces a wide range of beers using the finest raw ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. All the beers are brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot method by the highly-skilled and award-winning brewmaster Wolfgang Koedel.
CBC became a reality when Swedish brewer Henrik Dunge joined forces with beer enthusiast Wolfgang Koedel and Andy Kung with the aim of establishing a brewery that makes beer as it should be – in true craft style. CBC was born and continues to develop a sterling reputation for producing finely crafted beers.
