Multiple pub operators Kirsten and Nathan Cortilla have opened their third pub together, the Three Brewers in Corsham, their first in partnership with Red Oak Taverns. With Red Oak, the couple have transformed the pub and were runner up in the finals for Pub of the Year award at this year’s Wiltshire Life award. Nathan and Kirsten also run the Flemish Weaver in Corsham and the White Hart in Atworth.
Since taking over the pub, Kirsten and Nathan have redecorated throughout, added new flooring and transformed the garden area with decking and a children’s play area and the pub’s owners Red Oak Taverns invested in external redecoration, lighting and new toilets. The pub now has a mass of events and activities to cater for all the community including knit & natter, chess and book clubs, Blues Sundays, kid’s craft sessions, quiz and bingo nights as well as hosting crib, darts and skittles leagues. This year they are starting race nights and will be launching a new breakfast and pub lunch menus and themed food nights later this Spring.
Speaking about their latest pub venture, Kirsten who has ran pubs with Nathan for 15 years said, “We found the pub by chance and both being from the local area, we knew it well. We always wanted to run a pub that was a proper community hub, and this was the one. We worked in partnership with Red Oak Taverns to pull our plans together and with the joint investments we are well on our way to creating a place where everyone is welcome whether they want a quiet drink or to catch up with friends at one of our events”.
Business development manager for Red Oak Taverns, Jo Skuse said, “Both Nathan and Kirsten are experienced pub operators, so it was brilliant they decided to run the Three Brewers. They have made a huge difference to the pub which now has something for everyone”.
The pub which introduced cask ales and is featured in the Good Beer guide also serves as a collection point for the local food bank and a bereavement help point in partnership with Dorothy House. The new menu will be launched later in the Spring and will feature the Three Brewers breakfast and lunch specials.
