Neptune Brewery and Hawksmoor Restaurant collaborate on a Pale Ale to celebrate the opening of their Liverpool restaurant

Renowned steak restaurant Hawksmoor is opening a new spot in Liverpool and has partnered with local, independent brewery Neptune to brew their own pale ale in celebration.

The brand new 5.5% Hawksmoor Pale Ale is full-bodied and fruity on the palate, with a refreshing citrus hit and gentle piney finish. Ideal to enjoy on its own or along with the delicious and refined dishes on the restaurant’s menu.

Neptune has been named Merseyside Brewery of the Year 2020 by ratebeer.com and is in the middle of a brewery move and expansion due to the increasing popularity of their beers.

Neptune co-owner Julie O’Grady is delighted with the partnership and their continued trend of collaborating with well-loved restaurants:

“It’s becoming increasingly important to offer diners beer options that match the standard of the dishes on the menu and to reflect in the drinks offering that ethos of providing high quality and well-made products that are made locally by fellow independent businesses.”

“As big fans of Hawksmoor ourselves, we are over the moon that a branch is opening here in Liverpool and we hope to win a whole host of new fans for both the restaurant and our beer.”

The beer was a true collaboration in every sense of the word as Lewis Jenkins, the new Bar Manager for the Liverpool branch, joined in on the initial brew day itself.

Hawksmoor already has highly successful restaurants in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, New York and they plan to open another soon in Dublin. Hawksmoor Pale Ale has been in the making for some time as the plans for the Liverpool opening have developed. In receipt of numerous accolades and receiving praise from both restaurant critics and everyday diners alike, Hawksmoor Bars Manager Liam Davy knew they needed their new house pale ale to be something special.

“We’ve loved collaborating with Neptune Brewery on a beer for Hawksmoor Liverpool. As well as being incredibly talented brewers and operators, their support around our opening and personal touch has made them an absolute pleasure to work with.”

Hawksmoor Liverpool had its official opening on Thursday 24th November 2022 at 8 Brunswick St, Liverpool L2 0PL.

About Neptune Brewery:

Neptune Brewery has been brewing modern beers, inspired by tradition, in North Liverpool since 2015 and are proudly independent.

Their beers are naturally conditioned and all the “uns” – that’s unfiltered, unpasteurised and unfined – ensuring the greatest flavour in each brew. It also means their beers are vegan friendly as they want as many people as possible to enjoy them.

They brew a core range of popular and accessible beers accompanied by an eclectic and ever-changing rotation of seasonals, rarities and collaborations – available in cask, keg and cans.
