New Bath Ales Venue Creates Dozens of Jobs

With the announcement of a new flagship venue in Bath, up to 50 new jobs are being created by Bath Ales.

Having signed the lease for its biggest outlet to date, next to Bath Spa Station, it will add a quarter to the workforce of Bath Ales, bringing total staff numbers to 250.

The new outlet – Graze Bar, Brewery and Chophouse – needs a full team of skilled people for the 5,000 sq ft site.

Plans for the outlet include a small micro-brewery and two alfresco dining areas, with staff accommodating up to 140 diners at any one time.

Robin Couling, Bath Ales’ retail director, said: “It’s an exciting time for us and with Graze being genuinely different we are confident we are adding something that improves the excellent offer Bath makes to residents and visitors alike.

“For anyone looking to join the hospitality industry this is a great opportunity.  Graze will be a flagship venue, the largest pub investment we have ever made, and we are looking for an excellent team to be a vital part of its success.”

New roles include General Manager, and a host of other management and service roles. Then to support the dining operation Bath Ales are recruiting a full complement of catering staff from Chefs to Kitchen Porters.

An established operation in the past year Bath Ales has increased its brewery capacity and opened three new outlets prior to the announcement of this latest opening.

Robin Couling added: “Graze Bar, Brewery and Chophouse will be a vibrant addition to Bath’s bar and dining scene.

“Though different in character to our other venues in the city – The Hop Pole and The Salamander – people can expect that we have used our knowledge and skills to create a unique new experience we know they will enjoy.”

The new location will open this December, offering high quality food.  Locally sourced meats are the central focus of the menu, but there will also be fresh seafood, seasonal specials and light snacks to choose from, all accompanied by an extensive range of cask beers and other drinks.

With a micro-brewery also being installed a number of unique brews will tempt customers.

Anyone interested in joining  Bath Ales should email, with their CV, to recruitment@bathales.co.uk.

Notes to editor:
Bath Ales
Based between Bath and Bristol, Bath Ales is an independent brewery established in 1995 which uses traditional brewing techniques with cutting-edge technology.   The founders come from a brewing background and combine a range of skills with a shared passion for cask beer.

Last Autumn Bath Ales announced a significant investment plan which will see production volumes double in the next two years.   The brewer currently produces just over 25,000 brewer’s barrels annually and the business has had its own bottling plant since 2007.  It has an on-site brewery shop.

Bath Ales currently operate ten sites across the South West – The Hare on the Hill, The Hop Pole, The Live and Let Live, The Salamander, The Swan, The Wellington, Graze Bar & Chophouse and Beerd.  It also opened The Grapes in Oxford and Graze Bar, Brasserie and Chophouse in Cirencester in recent months.

The Bath Ales range of beers includes Gem, Barnsey, Dark Side, Wild Hare, S.P.A. and Ginger Hare.
