NEW DAWN CITRUS ALE IS LATEST CASK CLUB RELEASE

New Dawn Citrus Ale is the latest beer to appear as part of Cask Club, the contemporary cask ale initiative launched by Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, earlier this year.

Brewed to a brand new recipe, New Dawn (3.5% ABV) is a light, sessionable ale brewed with Mandarina hops sourced from the Hallertau region of Germany. This is the first time Shepherd Neame have used Mandarina.

The beer also has dried sweet orange zest added to the copper during the boil.

Shepherd Neame Head Brewer Mike Unsworth said: “New Dawn has a mellow, smooth bitterness, hints of orange and a refreshing citrus hit courtesy of the Mandarina hops and orange zest.

“If we have good weather in May it’s the kind of beer that should go down very, very well.”

New Dawn Citrus Ale follows the successful release of Hop County (March) and Blonde Ambition (April).

Cask Club is designed to highlight Shepherd Neame’s passion for both innovation and seasonality, with a bold new cask ale available from the beginning of each month.

As part of the initiative, drinkers will be able to pick up a Cask Club passport. Each time they try a new Cask Club ale they can pick up a sticker, and those who fill their passport will be eligible for an exclusive limited edition Cask Club T-shirt. They will also be entered into a prize draw to win a weekend getaway.
