There’s a new face at the helm for the reopening of the newly transformed Vine Inn, Tenterden.
A £250,000 refurbishment programme has been completed including new lighting, décor and furniture. A new bar has been installed, and the layout of the pub changed to create a new dining area.
The Vine Inn also has a new General Manager, Fraser Johnston who first worked behind the bar at The Vine 12 years ago.
Father-of-two Fraser, 36, said: “I spent eight years at The Vine, working my way up from a member of bar staff to manager, before moving on to run several other Shepherd Neame sites including The George Hotel in Cranbrook.
My wife is from Tenterden and we live just outside in St Michael’s, so when this opportunity arose at The Vine, I expressed my interest straight away, and was thrilled to be appointed. The Vine has been completely transformed, so it is a really exciting challenge.”
The Vine also has a new menu, drinks offer and serves barista coffee. The rear garden has been repaved and new furniture installed. The new games room has bar skittles, a dart board, playing cards and board games and there is live music from 9.30pm every Saturday, and a quiz every Sunday from 8.30pm.
Shepherd Neame director of retail and tenanted operations Nigel Bunting said: “We are delighted with the results of this major investment. The pub looks absolutely fantastic, and we have a great team in place, working hard to ensure that The Vine Inn fulfils its incredible potential.”
The Vine Inn is open from 11am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 11am to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Food is served from noon to 9pm every day.
