New Members Joining the Guild

A warm welcome to the following new members who have joined the Guild in the last few months. We now number nearly 270 writers, bloggers, broadcasters, photographers, publishers, PRs, marketeers, trainers, tour guides and others in the world of beer and pubs.  If you know anyone who you think would be interested in joining the Guild, please direct them to our online application form.

Joining as Full Members:

Jane Stuart: A writer on beer and football culture, Jane has 25 years of experience writing about her adventures on her travels with honesty and humour. Jane has had regular columns in the Blackpool Gazette, match programme and Shoot magazine as well as editing the Blackpool fanzine for many years. Formerly Branch Secretary for Birmingham CAMRA, Jane will be standing for the same position at Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre CAMRA at the forthcoming AGM. Jane’s work is becoming more focussed towards beer and pubs via her popular blog and strong Twitter presence @blackpooljane. You can view Jane’s work at

Shane McNamara: Shane is a Master Cicerone and also holds a Master’s degree in Brewing Science from the University of Nottingham. He has previously worked as a brewer and was formerly the Senior Technical Officer at the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD). Shane now helps drive innovation and quality for AB InBev – the world’s largest brewer. With a passion for beer and food, he regularly contributes to publications around the world and judging in beer competitions.

Tom Maya: For the last four years Tom has been the marketing manager at We Are Beer, the team behind several craft beer festivals across the UK. He also recently started a video game and beer podcast called ‘Game Over Beer’ with season one recently finished.

Joining as Associate Members:

Thomas Hewitt: Beer Sommelier and Cider Pommelier with extensive experience in beer and cider education. Based in Wales and a champion of Welsh products, Thom also specialises in Belgian beer and food.
