New ‘Men at Work’ South Pacific Amber Ale Launched by Hillside Brewery

The latest craft beer innovation from the award-winning Hillside Brewery in Gloucestershire has today been announced: an Aussie-inspired Men at Work 4.5% South Pacific Amber Ale, bursting with vibrant tropical top-notes synonymous with New World hop varieties.

Created by Hillside’s father-and-son team Peter and Paul Williamson alongside their expert brewing team, the new brew is the 17th to come from the barrels of this small craft brewery tucked away on a hillside in the Gloucestershire countryside.

Named in honour of the Australian and New Zealand-origin hops used to create the brew, this light session ale boasts a vibrant tropical flavour with a robust caramel backbone and is the perfect accompaniment to al fresco BBQs, spicy curries and fragrant feasts; or simply as a great post-work beer that will see you through the evening and into the night.

“We’ve always loved the fresh, tropical flavours of South Pacific brews, so wanted to make our first craft ale using hops from this region,” explained Paul Williamson, Director of Hillside Brewery. “The light, amber colour makes this a great, easy-going session ale and it is light enough to complement a range of spicier dishes without overpowering them, just like a delicate IPA. We thought there no better way to honour the Aussie heritage of the brew’s hops than with a name that nods to the land down under!”

Men at Work is brewed in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside at Hillside Brewery, a small craft brewery located on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Run by a small, specialist team led by Peter and Paul Williamson, the Brewery is entirely run on renewable energy thanks to solar panels, heat and air source heat pumps, used to power the whole brewing process. Spent hops are even used to feed local dairy cattle, with waste products recycled by the Brewery wherever possible. Men at Work is therefore an entirely ‘green’ brew: beer with an environmental conscience.

The Men at Work beer is available to purchase as a single 330ml bottle (priced £3) or as a case of 12 bottles priced £28.00. To purchase, visit Hillside Brewery’s online shop at www.hillsidebrewery.com.
