Online Event: “Fog on the Channel – Conversations on European Beer”, March 31 @ 6:30pm BST – Last chance to RSVP

We may be called the British Guild of Beer Writers, but we’re proud as an organisation to have among our membership writers and communicators from across Europe and beyond.

These members are perfectly placed to give us the lowdown on beer and brewing in their home region. So to celebrate these links, we’re launching a series of talks with our members from continental Europe.

Fog on the Channel – Conversations on European Beer with the British Guild of Beer Writers

Wednesday, March 31st 2021

6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Online via Zoom

We’re delighted to kick off the series with two leading beer writers:

  • Breandán Kearney, founder of Belgian Smaak and award-winning writer on Belgian (and Irish) beer at Good Beer Hunting, National Geographic and others; and
  • Andreas Krennmair, beer historian and author of the book “Vienna Lager”, published in 2020 and reviewed as “a must-have reference….highly recommended.”

We’ll talk the latest developments in Belgian beer, what’s happening in Germany, how Covid is changing the brewing landscape, and what it’s like to self-publish during a pandemic.

The conversation will hosted by Eoghan Walsh, Guild member and founder of Brussels Beer City.

To RSVP, contact secretary@beerguild.co.uk.

All attendees will be sent the Zoom link the day before the event.
