Nomadic Beers Open Taproom, 16th March

On Saturday 16th March from 12pm, Nomadic Beers will open the brewery doors for their next Open Taproom.

“It’s a really exciting time at Nomadic” says ‘Gaffa’ Katie Marriott, brewery owner. “We’ve just commissioned our brew kit in our new home & finished our first brew!”

“That means when people come to our Taproom on 16th March, we’ll have some beer in the fermenter, it’s a massive milestone for us” continued Katie.

Although the first beer brewed at the new brewery won’t be ready in time, there is still plenty of Nomadic Beers available to try at their March Open Taproom.

“Whilst we’ve been commissioning the new brewery, we’ve continued brewing at the Burley Street Brewhouse” says Katie.

For the March Open Taproom, you can expect four starting beers on hand pull, with two in reserve. The starting beers include new seasonal special Scallywag, a 4.7% American Pale. Also, Huitaca a 6.8% Baltic Porter, brewed with some of the women from Whitelocks & Turk’s Head in Leeds, for International Women’s Day.

Between 12pm-2pm, Nomadic will also host Hops & Tots, a regular event where parents can enjoy craft beer whilst their children play. The Hops & Tots organiser is Becky Pettman.

“Hops & Tots was born from a desire to meet other new parents who had a shared interest in beer & to overcome the guilt that sometimes comes with being in a pub with young children” says Becky.

“We set up a large play mat & toys with colouring for older children. It’s an opportunity for parents to meet, with toys for the children to play with, good beer & the chance to not worry about little ones making noise or just generally being kids!”

As well as beer, there’ll be cider & gin available, plus food provided by Leeds-based Wapentake. Tea, coffee & soft drinks are freely available from Nomadic, however people are encouraged to make a small donation to St Gemma’s Hospice in return. £171 has already been raised thanks to generous donations at previous events.

Nomadic’s March Open Taproom will run from 12pm-7pm on Saturday 16th March, in their brewery at Unit 11 Sheepscar House, 15 Sheepscar Street, Leeds, LS7 1AD.

The Brewery is next door to Enterprise vehicle rentals, a 15-minute walk from Leeds City Centre & just 3 minutes away from nearby North Brewing Co’s brewery tap room – Here is a map. The brewery is also fully accessible.
