North’s 24-Hour Danceathon: Dancing for a Cause

North is excited to be hosting a 24-hour danceathon event in partnership with Drydens Fairfax Solicitors, set to captivate the city’s dance enthusiasts while raising funds for two local charities, St Gemma’s Hospice and St George’s Crypt. This event promises non-stop dancing, fantastic music, and a heartwarming atmosphere, all for a great cause.

Event Details:

Date and Time: Organised by Sarah Hex from Drydens Fairfax Solicitors, the danceathon will start at 9:00am on Friday November 17th and will finish 24 hours later at 9:00am on Saturday November 18th.

Participation Options: The event is open to all, with dancers having the flexibility to choose between dancing for 6, 12, or the full 24 hours. Everyone is encouraged to come down no matter what dance experience they have, to help raise money for two fantastic charities that have worked closely with North for the past few years.

Dance Variety: The danceathon will feature a diverse line-up of dance styles and music, including themed hours like the 80’s and 90’s, Majorettes dance coaching, and a silent disco.

Taproom Open: While the danceathon is in full swing, the taproom will remain open as usual from 5:00 PM on Friday for beers, cocktails, bao’s and soft drinks.

Special Discounts: Anyone joining in the fundraising event will enjoy a 25% discount at Little Bao Boy and have access to an OED Sport hydration station to keep the energy flowing.

Supporter’s Welcome: Spectators and supporters are warmly encouraged to attend and cheer on the dancers throughout the event.

About St Gemma’s Hospice:

St Gemma’s Hospice provides expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. They offer care to patients and their carers in the hospice’s in-patient unit through the St Gemma’s community team and via out-patients. St Gemma’s welcomes and provides care to everyone regardless of people’s age, gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or diagnosis. Their care is always completely free of charge.

About St George’s Crypt:

St George’s Crypt Care provides compassion and hope with 72 bed spaces, 365 days a year for those who are without a home. They offer immediate practical support in terms of getting fed, cleaned up and clothed along with opportunities to gain skills, self-confidence and a sense of achievement. St George’s Crypt is a place in which people can choose to change.
