Festive tipple plans in homes across the North East and the wider UK have been given a boost by The Twice Brewed Brew House, which has opened up orders for its Christmas Pub In A Box.
Following the success of its campaign to bring a taste of The Twice Brewed to people in the comfort of their own home during the first Covid-19 lockdown, staff at the Northumberland Brew House are making sure the season of goodwill will also be the season of good ale.
The second nationwide closure of pubs and restaurants and the Government instruction to stay at home during the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, means that the Brew House and neighbouring pub, The Twice Brewed Inn – both situated on one of the most dramatic stretches of Hadrian’s Wall – are unable to welcome visitors in search of the perfect pint.
And although the lockdown is currently scheduled to end on December 2, head brewer at the award-winning Brew House, Matthew Brown, said he wanted to put together a festive edition of the Pub In A Box and start taking pre-orders for delivery in mid-December.
He said: “Back in the Spring, people seemed to love The Twice Brewed Pub In A Box – we struggled to keep up with demand – so we thought it would be a good idea for us to unveil the Christmas edition early so people have time to get their orders in.
“We’re sure lots of people will be using lockdown to make plans and prepare for Christmas. Having something to look forward to is really important at the moment and we thought a December delivery from The Twice Brewed could be something that would tick that box!
“We’ve also added a golden Letter from Santa to one box, whoever finds it will win a Stargazing, Supper and Slumber package at The Twice Brewed Inn.”
For just £30, the Christmas Pub In A Box from The Twice Brewed Brew House, which can be collected or delivered direct to your door, includes:

In addition to the Christmas Pub In A Box, customers can also order beers and ales from The Twice Brewed Brew House online for home delivery or collection.
Matthew continued: “We’ve been brewing none-stop over the past few weeks to make sure we have a well-stocked warehouse and can bring the many tastes of The Twice Brewed to people in their own homes.
“As well as our standard range, we have two beers – Mithras and Invidia – coming back into cans and are also excited for people to try our new IPA can, Fides.”
Meanwhile for anyone who wants to give the gift of brews from The Twice Brewed to their nearest and dearest this Christmas, there are also gift packs available.
Matthew said: “People can choose three bottles which come together in a gift box, or we will also be putting together some pre-packed boxes to make it easier for those who maybe would appreciate some guidance on what to choose.”
All orders need to be made online or over the phone with collection and delivery options available. Pre-orders for Christmas Pub In A Box can be made now for delivery/collection in mid-December.
Delivery charges are £5.95 for Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and parts of County Durham and £7.95 for the rest of the UK. Free local delivery and click and collect also available and any orders over £75 will also qualify for free delivery.
