A Northumberland pub and brewery has added a little flash of gold to its burgeoning home delivery business – offering customers the chance to win wonderful prizes to look forward to after the UK lockdown is lifted.
Staff at The Twice Brewed Inn and its neighbouring Brew House have been delighted with the response to its quirky Pub In A Box package, which was launched following the nationwide closure of pubs and restaurants in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Hundreds of orders have already been shipped all over the North East and wider UK, giving customers the chance to enjoy a taste of The Twice Brewed in the comfort of their own home.
And now those who order the £30 Pub In A Box will have an extra reason to rip open their delivery from the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country with excitement.
From this weekend (April 18th) a limited number of shimmering Golden Beer Mats will be added to randomly selected Pub In A Box deliveries – and each can be exchanged for visits and experiences at The Twice Brewed Inn and Brew House, worth hundreds of pounds.
So, as well as looking forward to a 5 litre mini cask of Sycamore Gap Pale Ale; 2 x Twice Brewed pint glasses; 2 packets of crisps; 2 packets of nuts; a pub quiz; and 2 beer mats; those lucky enough to find a Golden Beer Mat among their box of treats will be offered the choice of:

Head brewer, Matthew Brown, who is working solo at the Brew House to protect the health and wellbeing of staff and customers, said: “The response to the Pub In A Box has been really phenomenal.
“It seems to have caught people’s imagination and we’ve had so many lovely messages from customers who appreciate being able to have a flavour of The Twice Brewed delivered direct to their door.
“As the lockdown looks set to continue for the next few weeks, we started thinking that it might be fun to give people something extra.
“By hiding a limited number of Golden Beer Mats in the Pub in A Box packages, it adds a bit of excitement to the delivery – and for those who find one, it offers something lovely to look forward to when we’re all able to start getting out and about again.

All local orders, which need to be paid for online or over the phone as cash is no longer accepted, will be delivered free of charge to selected local postcodes (CA8, NE47, NE49, NE46, NE45, NE44, NE43, NE42) every Thursday.
National deliveries are also currently available and are free for orders over £75.
More products are already being added to the Brew House’s online shop, including a wider selection of mini casks, a beer tasting box and a family box, which includes beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks.
