Woodforde’s has looked to the rich brewing traditions of Bavaria with its latest New World Brewing creation – Conquest Pilsner.
The new-look lager pays homage to the iconic beer style and brings centuries of traditional lagering style to the Norfolk brewery.
Brewed using Goldings, Cascade and Summit hops, Conquest Pilsner boasts a light yet invigorating flavour, balanced with a malty sweetness.
The 4.5% pilsner is the latest addition to Woodforde’s New World Brewing range, which takes inspiration from American-born Head Brewer Aaron Taubman and his decades of experience creating exciting styles of beer.
He said: “It’s really exciting to unveil our new-look Conquest Pilsner.
“The world looks to us here in the UK when it comes to ale, but for lager it really is Bavaria and the Bohemian region which take the biscuit for making incredible beer.
“That’s why we’ve looked over to our German friends to create a pilsner that’s crisp, fresh and light – the perfect choice for lager lovers.”
The New World Brewing range was first launched this spring with the unveiling of Hazy IPA and Tropical IPA, both drawing on Aaron’s experience in the booming US craft brewing scene of the 1990s.
He added: “New World Brewing isn’t just about American influences – it’s about introducing our customers to new and exciting flavours that they wouldn’t necessarily expect from Woodforde’s.
“We remain a proud champion of cask ale and will continue to bring customers their beloved favourites like Wherry and Volt – but we also continue looking for ways to innovate and excite.
“We are confident our newest creation is going to prove a real favourite, and anyone who can’t make it over to Munich for Oktoberfest can proudly raise a pint of Conquest here in the UK!”
Conquest Pilsner is available now to on-trade customers in 30l kegs and 440ml cans and replaces the former lager of the same name.
Off-trade customers will also be able to purchase multipack cans and a New World Brewing discovery case from mid-August.
