Ross O’Hara, Greene King’s head brewer, will supply a firkin of Old 5X for a talk on Beers from the Wood by Roger Protz at the East Anglia Beer Festival in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday 1 May at 6.30pm.
Old 5X, stored in oak casks for a year, is one of the beers that form the famous blend Strong Suffolk Ale. As Old 5X is never sold commercially, this will be a rare opportunity to sample the beer.
The tasting is at 6.30pm.The following day, at 2.30, Roger will give a talk on India Pale Ale. The Arc, city centre, Bury St Edmunds. The festival runs until Saturday 4 May.
