Old Spooky Hen, the seasonal rebadge, is making a return for the month of October with more treats than ever to drive guests to the pub this autumn.
Pubs that stock Old Speckled Hen in cask will receive a new pump clip to rebadge the ale as Old Spooky Hen for the month, however this year guests will also have the opportunity to win “fangtastic” prizes via an exclusive on trade promotional campaign, giving customers even more reasons to visit their local during the spooky season.
With over 150 prizes up for grabs, including haunted sleepovers and escape room vouchers, all customers will need to do is purchase a pint of Old Spooky Hen and upload a picture of it, and some details, using the QR code provided on point of sale in participating pubs across the UK.
Old Speckled Hen is keen to support its customers to drive footfall with reasons to visit the pub, as well as rewarding the curiosity of its drinkers by celebrating key events in the calendar and providing exciting competitions that only pub goers can get involved with.
David Spencer, Head of Marketing for the Old Speckled Hen family, said: “It’s great to have Old Spooky Hen making a return to the bar this year, which drives excitement around a fun annual occasion. To continue to build on the activity and encourage guests to visit the pub, we believe the incentive to win an extra treat – as well as getting a refreshing pint of Old Speckled Hen – will be a great way to get people engaged with the product and even get those that have never tried cask to give it a taste. We promise it’s not a trick!”
Gangly Ghoul, the 4.2% premium bitter, will also be available for pubs to stock for October, as part of the Greene King Fresh Cask Releases calendar, a portfolio of 18 limited-edition cask beers available at specific times throughout the year. With warming toffee characters and a touch of orange peel citrus and spiciness, Gangly Ghoul is a great seasonal cask to trial on the bar.
