Olympic Torch passes Absolute Pubs site on final leg

The Olympic Torch passed Absolute Pubs site, the King’s Arms at Hampton Court at 7.30 this morning on the final leg of its journey to the opening ceremony this evening.  It was carried by local charity worker Jane Caldwell (pictured), before passing into Hampton Court Palace opposite the pub, where it was taken through the historic maze, down to the Thames and then onto the Royal rowbarge Gloriana before travelling down the river to the Olympic Park.

Absolute Pubs director Simon Bailey said, “We opened the King’s Arms at 7.00 this morning and put up a barbecue serving bacon butties to the Olympic Torch spectators. It was exciting to be part of this unique event so close to the start of the Games and there was a great atmosphere  in and around the pub.”
