ONE WEEK TO GO FOR STIEGL BEER COCKTAIL ENTRIES AS JUDGES ARE ANNOUNCED

Euroboozer has sent out a final yodel for entries for its annual Stiegl Beer Cocktail competition as an impressive line-up of judges for the grand final is announced.

With the deadline fast approaching on the 31st July, bartenders from across the UK have just over a week to get their beer cocktail entries created, tested and submitted to be in with a chance of winning £530 and a beer every day for a year

Following the deadline, an initial paper judging and then social media vote will whittle the entries down to just five beer cocktails, which will then be judged by industry experts on the 11th August at the Boundary Rooftop, London

This year’s line-up of judges includes Scott Collins, Chief Eating Officer at MEATliquor, Shannon Tebay, former head bartender at the Savoy’s American Bar and now Beverage Director at Outernet, Marta Tokarz, Group Bar Operations Manager at Cubitt House and Max Chater, all-round liquid geek, distiller and partner at Vault Vermouth and Chaters, Saffron Waldon.

The unique competition is an annual event during the summer months.  This year it takes on extra special significance as it is part of Stiegl’s 530th year anniversary celebrations.

Martyn Railton, MD of Euroboozer, said:

“It’s been great weather for beer cocktails so the entries have been coming in thick and fast. We’re delighted to have such an incredible panel of industry experts to judge the grand final and for it to be held on the Rooftop of the Boundary is a real treat too. We’re already excited about the judging but with just over a week to go until the deadline, there is still time to enter so we’re urging bartenders to get their entries submitted as quickly as possible.”

Stiegl Radler and Beer Cocktails

Set up in 1492, the Stiegl brewery turned 530 years old in June. With a hard-earned reputation for being the world’s most thirst-quenching, supremely-refreshing, sun-loving sipper, the multi-tasking Stiegl Grapefruit Radler can also be a power ingredient in a whole host of seasonal cocktails of the beer persuasion.

Produced by combining Stiegl’s famous Goldbräu lager with fresh grapefruit juice, this much-revered, naturally cloudy Radler-style beer contains just 2% alcohol by volume but offers an explosion of fruity flavours, fizz and puckery tartness for unbeatable flavour and refreshment. It is available in a 500ml can and 25L Returnable kegs.

Great examples of beer cocktails created in previous years include MEATliquor’s famous Radlerita, drink writer Jonathan Hatchman’s Rad Paloma, beer writer Mark Dredge’s Campari Radler and blogger Happy Skin Kitchen’s Grapefruit Beerlini.

About Euroboozer

Started from the back of an old VW Vento in 2003, Euroboozer was set up by beer lover Martyn Railton, initially importing Austrian brands Stiegl, Schremser and Hirter. The company soon branched out across Europe and the Atlantic helping to drive the craft beer trend in the UK.

Nineteen years on the VW Vento has gone to be replaced with offices and a warehouse in Hertfordshire and Euroboozer now supplies some of the finest food and beverage establishments and retailers in the country.

In addition to the Austrian beers, the company exclusively distributes Andechs, Blakstoc, Harpoon and Other Half, as well as ten exciting Czech craft breweries and a host of leading UK brewers.
