Fuller Smith and Turner, the premium pubs and hotels business, is delighted to announce the welcome return of Opera in the Garden.
Head to your local Fuller’s pub for another season of operatic excellence from Rogue Opera, with a new production showcasing all the big issues in opera – doomed love, star-crossed lovers, the eternal battle between good and evil, loyalty and jealously, power and revenge. But it’s not all about love and death in opera – there is plenty of fun to be had along the way, embodied by opera’s best larrikins, jokers, comedians and sidekicks. With spoken English dialogue linking fantastic opera pieces, and all pieces sung in their original language, Rogue Opera’s four singers and pianist return to Fuller’s Opera in the Garden – with another cleverly crafted romp through the opera cannon to delight newcomers and connoisseurs alike.
This year’s production offers 24 performances across 24 Fuller’s pubs from 18 June to 31 July and tickets can be purchased from Fuller’s website.
Rogue Opera founder Bronwen Stephens-Harding said: “Bringing opera to new spaces and audiences is a key part of our vision and what better way to experience opera for the first time – or revisit your favourites – than in your local pub garden? We’re excited to premiere Rogue Opera’s third original production, Lovers, Losers and Larrikins including fantastic singing, acting, staging and clever use of props to bring the drama to life. It’s been great fun creating another Opera in the Garden production for Fuller’s. We have lots of great characters and music to share with the audiences and I can’t wait to get back on the garden stages this summer.”
A full list of venues, performances and ticket prices can be found on the Fuller’s website.
