Guild member Roger Protz will conduct a tutored beer tasting at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Monday 8 October, heralded as the OctoberTest. It will feature a beer from a brewery close to each of the major Test grounds. Roger comments: “Lord’s hosts many food and drink events, including wine tastings, but this will be the first time it has staged a beer event. With many cricket grounds now serving cask beer, I hope the event at the international home of cricket will lead to similar beer tastings throughout the country.” The OctoberTest is for MCC members only but if any tickets remain they will be offered to selected guests.
