On Wednesday 14 February, Brigid Simmonds visited the Thwaites Brewery in Blackburn with Community Pubs Minister Jake Berry MP.
Brigid Simmonds and Jake Berry MP enjoyed a tour of the Thwaites microbrewery before they relocate in the summer. Along with Rick Bailey, Chief Executive of Thwaites and other representatives from the brewery, Brigid and the Minister discussed a variety of issues affecting the brewing and pub trade, including business rates and excise duty.
Following the discussion Brigid and Mr Berry MP had the chance to meet the Thwaites shire horses, one of many fantastic traditions of British family brewing.
