Pulpt launches the UK’s first cider radler

New fashioned cider makers, Pulpt, are proud to be launching Midsomer – the second small batch cider as part of their Signature Series.  This grapefruit infused cider radler is designed to be the perfect summer refresher providing zingy apple revelry.  And sitting at only 2.9% it satisfies the ongoing demand for lower alcohol drinking experiences *.

Launching at London Craft Beer Festival on Friday 9th August, Midsomer is the UK’s first cider radler – a style inspired by a classic German beer which is typically infused with lemon or lime.  Pulpt’s take on the style incorporates a big, juicy, tangy hit of grapefruit to ensure maximum refreshment.

The Signature Series of small batch ciders are a range of periodic releases that showcases the full breadth of flavour and fun that craft cider can provide and throws down a challenge to uninspiring macro cider makers.

“We want to show that it is possible to make fruit flavoured ciders that have integrity and intensity of flavour – not just another cheaply made, bland, sugar-riddled, concentrate-filled alcopop”, says Pulpt co-founder Al Collar (the one with the glasses). He continues ”At a time when mainstream makers are ripping out orchards we’re continuing to breathe life into UK orchards by using juice only from bittersweet and sharp apples to provide a flavour-packed base cider.  For Midsomer, we add award-winning** Grapefruit Sherbet syrup from our friends at Bristol Syrup Co. to create the ultimate in lower abv zingy refreshment”.

Bristol Syrup Co. are proud to be working collaboratively with near neighbours Pulpt to help change the narrative on cider.  Greg Williams says “We are so excited to finally collaborate with Pulpt on this project. Quality of flavour is the key focus of our syrups and it’s been great to work with Al and Jim as they are as passionate about the quality of their liquids as we are!”

And with the weather finally starting to turn, Midsomer is the cider to be drinking right now. “Although we’re a long way past Midsummers Day, given the cold and wet summer we’ve had so far, hopefully the name of this new cider will be right on cue!”, says Pulpt co-founder Jim Wakefield (the one with the beard).

There will be two further launches under the Signature Series banner from Pulpt during 2024, each one further demonstrating the playfulness, versatility and true innovation that can be achieved in the cider category.
