St Peter’s Brewery is celebrating winning a clutch of top awards at this year’s Global Beer Masters competition, which includes one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
The micro-brewery, based in Bungay in Suffolk, picked up a gold medal for its Cream Stout, a silver for its Old Style Porter and three bronze awards for Black IPA, Golden Ale and India Pale Ale.
Unlike other international competitions, The Global Masters series is judged purely on taste, with each beer measured on the taste and the skill of its brewer. All Global Masters are judged blind by the finest palates in the world – a panel of beer experts, beer sommeliers and senior buyers, with only the very best awarded medals.
“Winning medals in the Global Beer Masters is a big deal for us, especially as we are only a small brewery. We have a dedicated team who work incredibly hard to ensure we produce only the best quality beers so winning five medals in this competition is testament to their skill and on-going efforts,” explains Steve Magnall, CEO at St Peter’s Brewery.
The awards recognise the growth of the industry which now includes more than 1,700 brewers when there were just 250 in the 1990s. “The craft brewing industry is hugely competitive so awards such as the Global Beer Masters allow us to stand out in a crowded market place and prove that we are creating some of the best beers in the world. It’s a fantastic achievement for the whole team at St Peter’s,” adds Steve.
St Peter’s Brewery produces a range of beers from stouts, IPAs and ales through to fruit beers, alcohol-free beer and gluten free beers. For more information visit www.stpetersbrewery.co.uk
