While he was in Athens for Craft Beer Expo, Guild member Roger Protz met Sofoklis Panagiotou, founder of the Septem craft brewery and now the biggest in Greece. Sofoklis is the modern spelling of Sophocles and, as president of the Hellenic Association of Brewers, which campaigns for lower duty rates for small brewers, can fairly be called the Philospher of Greek Brewing.
