Salcombe Brewery Co. is delighted to announce the launch of Ocean Cider, a premium cider designed to complement their award-winning range of hand-crafted beers. Ocean Cider will be available from the 1st February on draught across the country. From 1st March it will also be available in 500ml bottles.

John Tiner, owner of Salcombe Brewery comments: “We are so excited to be launching our very first cider. We have created a range of outstanding ales since we started the business in 2016 and we are thrilled that we are now in a position to add a new dimension to our offering with the launch of Ocean Cider.”

Ocean Cider (ABV 4.5%) is a full-bodied traditional cider with a medium dry taste and a light sparkle. John continues: “We pride ourselves on using the finest ingredients and Ocean Cider has been created from the highest quality British cider apples grown right here in the South West. The result is a delectable drink that is the ideal accompaniment for pork, lamb and pasta dishes and equally enjoyable on its own.”

Ocean Cider is produced for Salcombe Brewery by Sheppy’s, one of the oldest cider making families in the world and will be available across the country.

  • Salcombe Brewery Co. was founded by John and Gerry Tiner in September 2016. After 35 years of fun-filled family holidays nearby, John and Gerry moved to the area and soon discovered that the local area’s favourite beer, Shingle Bay, might be under threat, so they decided to set up a new brewery and acquire the recipe.
  • The seahorse logo behind the brand of Salcombe Brewery Co. is representative of the fact that the Salcombe estuary is one of the few places in the UK you can find the rarer of the two species of seahorse. Inspired by local surroundings, Salcombe Brewery Co. takes pride in its local roots, which is reflected in the branding. Unique, fresh and contemporary, the seahorse is a seal of high quality represented by the beers.
