SALCOMBE BREWERY CO. TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SALCOMBE RNLI LIFEBOAT IN 2019

Salcombe Brewery Co. is delighted to reveal that it will be supporting the RNLI by donating 5 pence to them for every pint of Lifesaver sold in 2019, the year in which Salcombe commemorates 150 years of having its own Lifeboat Station.

Owner of Salcombe Brewery Co., John Tiner, says: “We are committed to giving back to our local area and are thrilled to have the opportunity to support an important cause. Salcombe’s first Lifeboat Station was established in 1869 so 2019 marks 150 years of saving lives. We are keen to raise awareness of the invaluable role that the RNLI has played in our community for the last century and a half and to raise funds to support them in the continuation of this work.

In 2019, we will be donating 5 pence to the RNLI for every draught pint sold of our much-loved and aptly named Lifesaver.”

Lifesaver (ABV4.8%) is a tasty bronze coloured ale which boasts a pleasantly maltyflavour with a smack of citrus and orange peel. The initial citrus flavour gently fades into a subtle liquorice and toffee character with a floral finish. It is available on draught in bars and restaurants throughout the South West.

The Salcombe Lifeboat Station is operated by a team of 42 local men and women, 26 sea-going, 15 shore-based and 1 Lifeboat Medical Adviser. They have two boats, a 25 knot Tamar Class All Weather Lifeboat ‘The Baltic Exchange III’, and a 35 knot B Class Inshore Lifeboat ‘Gladys Hilda Mustoe’. Mark Dowie  from Salcombe RNLI Lifeboat Station comments: “Our mission is to reach any casualty, in all weathers, within 10 miles of the station within 30 minutes of receiving an initial request from the Coastguard. However, the RNLI is a registered charity and relies on voluntary contributions and legacies to keep this service running
as we receive no Government funding.

“We are thrilled to have joined forces with Salcombe Brewery Co.. Every penny that they donate will directly help us to save lives. We would like to say a huge thank you to Salcombe Brewery Co. for their generous support.”

Lifesaver isan extremely popular beer from the Salcombe Brewery Co. range, which includes Seahorse, Salcombe Pale Ale, Devon Amber, Shingle Bay, Salcombe Gold and Island Street Porter as well as seasonal favourites such as Rip Tide, Christmas Tide and Stormwatch.
