SHEPHERD NEAME ACQUIRES POPULAR DINING PUB

Popular pub and dining venue the Horse and Groom, Wilmington, Dartford has been bought by independent brewer and pub operator Shepherd Neame.

Nigel Bunting, Shepherd Neame’s director of pub operations, said: “We’re delighted to have acquired the Horse and Groom, it’s a fantastic pub, with a great reputation for fresh locally sourced food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

“As such it fits perfectly with our portfolio of high quality destination pubs and we look forward to building on its excellent reputation.”

Shepherd Neame, which is Britain’s oldest brewer, is a family business and looks forward to welcoming the Horse and Groom’s staff into the Shepherd Neame fold.

Mr Bunting added: “There’s a great team at the pub and customer service is something we really value, so we’re really pleased to have them on the wider team.”

Shepherd Neame has 323 pubs, bars and hotels in London and the South East and brews a range of classic ales such as Spitfire and Bishops Finger along with the Whitstable Bay range and contemporary beers such as Bear Island East Coast Pale Ale.
