Small Beer Brew Co. celebrates Mid-Strength March

On Saturday the 1st of March, Small Beer Brew Co., the original pioneers of mid-strength craft beers, hosted a celebratory march through the capital to highlight the rapidly growing appeal of mid-strength beers and the balanced social lifestyle they facilitate. The walk, which took place in central London, marked the launch of a month-long series of activities dedicated to mid-strength brews which Small Beer state are “designed to meet the demands of modern life”.

The march, which started at Seven Dials Market and finished at the National Theatre, saw Small Beer’s co-founders James Grundy and Felix James were joined by over 250 participants taking part in the lively procession with many joining along the way. The event featured a brass band and street dancers, adding to the festive atmosphere as attendees walked in celebration of brewing innovation – offering lower alcohol content without compromising on taste. The procession highlighted Small Beer’s mission of delivering world class mid-strength beers that offer a perfect balance of flavour and refreshment.

James Grundy, Co-Founder at Small Beer Brew Co., reflected on the event: “The turnout for the first day of Mid-Strength March exceeded our expectations. It was brilliant to see so many people come together to take part in the march and raise a glass in celebration of mid-strength beers and the lifestyle that I think so many of us now aspire to lead. The popularity of lower-ABV options is booming and it’s incredible to see how far the movement has come. We’re excited to continue the celebrations throughout the month of March.”

Mid-strength beers, which have an alcohol content between 2.0% and 3.0% ABV (lower than the usual 4-6% ABV in regular beers), are gaining traction as consumers seek lighter options that still provide bold flavours. These beers allow people to enjoy an extended social drinking experience without the effects of higher alcohol content. Small Beer Brew Co. has led the movement having built the world’s first brewery dedicated to the production of beer brewed to 2.8%. They offer a range of beers with an ABV between 2.1%-2.8%, including Small Beer Pale, Hazy, Lager, IPA and Amber, each delivering the taste and character of traditional craft beers.

The success of the Mid-Strength March is part of a larger trend for Small Beer Brew Co. as interest in lighter alcohol strength drinks continues to grow. Consumers are increasingly choosing flavourful, lower ABV options and Small Beer is proud to remain at the forefront of this movement, delivering beers that allow people to enjoy great taste without the heavy effects of higher alcohol content.

Throughout March, Small Beer Brew Co. will continue its celebrations with a pop-up at The Understudy at Kerb National Theatre, where visitors can enjoy exclusive meal deals and pint offers. The venue will feature Small Beer styles on draught, perfect for pre- or post-show drinks. Additionally, a social media competition will allow attendees to win Small Beer bundles, ensuring the fun continues long after the march.
