South Place Hotel partners with Harviestoun to launch brewer’s first tank beer

Guild members are invited to enjoy a complimentary pint of Harviestoun from the tank, with a matching bar snack,  on Thursday 14th September, between 5pm and 7pm at the South Place Hotel in the City of London.

Award-winning craft lager maker, Harviestoun, has launched its first tank beer offering in collaboration with D&D London’s South Place Hotel.  The Scottish brewer now supplies the City of London hotel’s Secret Garden bar, 3 Bar and South Place Chop House restaurant with its perfectly-paired combination of wheat malt and lager malt. Described as the ‘Champagne of Lagers’, the Schiehallion craft lager offers a refreshing taste of sweet bread, grapefruit and a hint of honey.

Tank beer joins a wave of other artisan alcohol products to take the UK’s bar scene by storm. The beer is pumped straight into pressurised tanks after it is brewed, meaning it bypasses pasteurisation and can be transported from brewery to tap swiftly, maintaining a fresh taste.

South Place Hotel’s Director of Food and Beverage, Thomas Schuerch, said: “Tank Beer has taken Britain by storm and we are thrilled to be working with the passionate Harviestoun team, who we feel deliver the very best in the market. We are very excited for our guests to sample this refreshing, crisp and elegant craft lager, fresh from our striking copper tanks.”

Harviestoun Managing Director, Toby Knowles, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the fantastic D&D team to showcase our range of iconic craft beers across their premium London venues. The Schiehallion tanks at South Place Hotel marks a first for Harviestoun, and another stride forward in our mission to bring quality craft beer into the premium hospitality sector.”
