Brew York is releasing two special Yorkshire-themed beers to mark Yorkshire Day 2022.
‘Yorkshire Parky’ is a Yorkshire Parkin Milk Stout, featuring a silhouette of a certain popular talk show host from Yorkshire nestled among white rose bunting and slabs of parkin on the can label. Celebrating not just one but two of Yorkshire’s greatest icons, ‘Yorkshire Parky’ is packed full of speciality malts which impart a sweet, biscuity character which is delicately balanced with warm ginger and allspice and sweet treacle adds a syrupy sweetness.
A playful reference to the ‘tight Yorkshireman’ stereotype ‘Yorkshire Battle Cry: Ow Much?!’ is a pale beer brewed with fellow Yorkshire brewery Roosters Brewing Co. This beer is 4.5% abv and is packed full of Strata hops to bring fruity, dank flavours, notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and peach, and a rounded gentle bitterness.
Firmly rooted in Yorkshire and with a main operation now at their recently developed £2million state-of-the-art production facility, Brew York boasts seven core beers plus regular monthly specials, alongside venues in York (Walmgate and Osbaldwick), Pocklington, and Leeds. The brewery sells directly to UK-wide customers via a web shop and monthly subscription service, as well distributing beer in cask, keg, and can to pubs, bottle shops and other venues across the country. Morrisons, Asda, and Sainsbury’s now stock selected beers from the Brew York range, with more supermarkets set to add lines. International export growth plans are also afoot.
In addition to being known for brewing innovation, Brew York is also known for light-hearted pun-based beer names and colourful, playful designs, with many featuring well-known characters from popular culture. Other recent beer specials include ‘Tiramoosu Tonkoko’ – a 7.5% abv coffee, coconut, cacao, vanilla and tonka imperial milk stout – and ‘The Floor is Guava’, a Sabro hop, coconut, and guava pale at 5.5% abv.
