Stonegate introduces Clenzair breakthrough technology in the fight against Coronavirus

Stonegate Pub Company have teamed up with Clenzair to trial breakthrough technology in the fight to maintain a safe and sanitised environment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The game-changing system significantly reduces viruses, bacteria, gases, odours, mould and Volatile Organic Compounds (such as those present in paint and cigarette smoke), by up to 99.99% and works by providing continuous air purification for both the air and surfaces.

The neat, maintenance and intrusive free units have been installed in Be At One, Birmingham and Stonegate are closely monitoring the trial.

“The safety of our customers and staff is paramount” said Commercial Director, Suzanne Baker, “And we, like many other operators, are looking for efficient, effective methods that will enable to tackle the challenges of maintaining the best possible clean and safe environment whilst balancing cost. The design works well in our bar and the results are looking promising so far as we work to make indoor as safe as being outdoor.”

Luke Harris, CEO of Clenzair said, “We are confident the Clenzair system is a game-changer given the COVID-19 impact on businesses across all sectors. Whilst it is still too early to know how it works specifically against coronavirus, however COVID-19 is a member of the enveloped RNA Sarbecoviruses subfamily and the technology employed by Clenzair is proven to work against similar viruses. Although we are not in a position to make any medical claims, it is likely to assume that it will also work well against the novel coronavirus.”

The system uses an advanced type of oxidation technology combining a Clenzair circulation fan with Photohydroionisation Cell technology (PHI) to remove airborne pollutants 24 hours a day, providing continuous air purification for both the air and surfaces, as well as neutralising those that have settled on surfaces. Research has found this type of air purification system to be effective in neutralising the smallest particles of bacteria and other contaminants, which could include everything from the common cold to MRSA, Norwalk Virus, Streptococcus, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Candida Albicans, and SARS.

The active in-venue PHI fans rely on a complex chain of chemical reactions that ultimately lead to the production of ‘cleansing’ ions. Unlike fogging no harmful chemicals are used as the process produces hydroperoxides, otherwise known as Mother Nature’s enviro-friendly cleaning agent, and are the same thing that makes the air smell clean after a thunderstorm. They purify both air and surfaces and offer a best practice solution in sanitising surfaces as well as helping to minimises excessive manual cleaning regimes.

Editors Notes:

  • Clenzair is an air purification and odour control system which significantly improves indoor air quality (IAQ) reducing viruses, bacteria, gases, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), mould and odour by up to 99.99% whilst its advanced atmosphere oxidisation technology gives indoor environments fresh, clean and odour free air.
  • Clenzair uses breakthrough technology evidenced by the outstanding test results across the entire range of microbes
  • Testing is being evaluated on COVID-19 in the US and China; similar ‘enveloped’ or protein jacketed virus types have been tested with validated results showing a 99+% reduction. This has been reviewed by the Associate Director of the National Agriculture Biosecurity Centre and past Distinguished Professor of Meat Science – Dr James Marsden of Kansas State University who supports that the evidence suggests ‘there is every reason to believe PHI technology would also be effective in reduction of COVID-19’. This is not a medical claim.
