Summer of Kozel

kozel_dnr2UK beer lovers fall for flavoursome, easy drinking Premium Czech beer

Stocked in over 1,000 UK outlets, Czech lager Kozel, from Velké Popovice is becoming a firm favourite amongst the nation’s beer drinkers. Over the past six months, the brand has enjoyed continued growth thanks to the Kozel Pint Finder app, a series of urban event partnerships and the opening of its first permanent showcase bar, Kozel LoKal at B.EAT St Manchester and now commands an extra £0.51p per pint against other Premium lager brands.

2016 has seen Kozel served on draught at some of the UK’s hottest summer events with exclusive partnerships including hipster paradise, Junkyard Golf London, which extended its residency at the Old Truman Brewery due to popular demand and Junkyard Golf Club in Manchester targeting over 240,000 consumers. Kozel also partnered with Summer Series at Somerset House, which saw thousands of music fans descend upon the iconic venue for performances from the likes of James Morrison, Everything Everything and Laura Mvula.

Other successful event partnerships included a return to Street Feast Dinerama, Street Feast Model Market, Street Feast Hawker House and Street Feast Dalston Yard. The brand continued to diversify and innovate with new street food partner B.EAT St Manchester, playing host to the brands first stand-alone outlet, Kozel LoKal, further cementing its affinity with the UK’s burgeoning street food scene.

Tim Clay, Sales Director at Asahi UK, commented:

“It’s certainly been an exciting period for Kozel. Partnering with more events than ever before and diversifying into different categories has had fantastic results for the brand. The Kozel Pint Finder app has also been a huge success, smashing download targets within months. We’re going to continue focussing on driving downloads so that the app can continue to drive more drinkers to discover and enjoy this fantastic beer.”

Chris Legh, Director at B.EAT St said:

“We’re delighted to have Kozel’s first standalone bar on B.EAT Street. We all love the beer and it’s definitely the perfect match to sit alongside the fantastic street food we have on offer. It’s been incredible busy since opening and has become a firm favourite with our customers.”
