The Garden Cider Company has announced, that following a successful trial, popular UK supermarket chain Lidl has taken on a second national run of The Garden Cider Company’s craft cider products, across its 928 stores.
The news of the latest agreement with Lidl has come, following a first run of 60,000 units of the bottled cider across Lidl’s UK sites, which was met with a popular uptake amongst customers.
The cider producer has seen three of its flavoured alcoholic beverages taken up by the supermarket chain, with their plum and ginger, original, and elderflower flavours making it to shelves across the UK. The new agreement will see a further 50,000 bottles become available to Lidl customers across the coming months.
Speaking on the second run with the supermarket, Co-founder of The Garden Cider Company, Will Filby said “We are incredibly pleased with the first uptake of our locally sourced product within Lidl stores and are delighted to have secured a second national run of our products. Working with Lidl has been a seamless process and we are looking forward to continuing this great relationship heading into 2023.”
Co-founded by brothers Ben and Will Filby, The Garden Cider Company receives apples from the gardens of homes across the South East of England, to enable them to produce thousands of bottles of cider every year. The local providers of the unwanted garden apples then receive in turn, bottled cider the following summer, after becoming members of The Garden Cider Company’s fantastic scheme. The company based in Chiddingfold, Surrey has been producing its range of flavoured fruit ciders for the past ten years.

Notes To Editors
The Garden Cider Company was created in 2010 by Ben and Will Filby. The idea is simple, hand crafted premium ciders sourced entirely from local, donated garden apples.
Each year, over 4000 local households take their spare garden fruit to the Garden Cider Company and in return receive a share of the cider made back for free, taking an abundant, largely wasted natural resource and turning it into sustainable, ethical and quality products.
The flavours in The Garden Cider Range include: Original, Dry Hopped, Elderflower, Plum & Ginger, Wild Strawberry, Raspberry, Rhubarb, Blueberry and Berry & Cherry.
In 2019, The Garden Cider Company Garden Cider Company was shortlisted in the Sustainable Use of Raw Materials category of the 2019 Footprint Drinks Sustainability Awards.
