Support for the Guild of Beer Sommeliers

Cask Marque has had their grant application to create a Beer Sommelier programme and Guild approved by the Brewers Research and Education Fund. (BREF)

These monies will be used by the Guild for:

  • Legal compliance – trademarks etc
  • Website build and design
  • Create two new courses as part of the Beer Sommelier qualification
    • Beer and food matching
    • How to judge beer and understanding off-favours
  • Design and print branded assets
  • PR and marketing
  • Project management

Paul Nunny, Founder of Cask Marque said “This is a significant investment by the BREF in the Beer Sommelier programme and it will give the Guild a kick start to deliver their mission of engaging individuals to learn about beer, take the Beer Sommelier assessment and promote Guild members as beer educators.”

  • BACA accredited Beer Sommeliers will automatically gain membership to the newly formed Guild of Beer Sommeliers.
  • Part qualified BACA applicants will be individually advised how to progress to full accreditation by filling out the enquiry form on www.beer-sommelier.org.uk
  • New applicants are encouraged to fill out the enquiry form on the Guild of Beer Sommeliers website and instructions and guidance will be provided.
