Tate Modern’s June Tap Takeover: Canadian based Collective Arts Brewing fuses art and beer

On the 26th June, Tate Modern will hand the Terrace Bar taps over to Collective Arts Brewing for another fantastic night of art, music and of course, great beer.

Collective Arts Brewing is a grassroots beer company based in Ontario, Canada. The brewery is unique in the way it fuses the craft of brewing with the talents of emerging artists and musicians. Their award-winning beers range from their flagship IPA Ransack the Universe to their World Beer Cup-winning Stranger than Fiction porter. On the night they will be showcasing six of their delicious craft beers which will vary in style and ABV.

THE BEER:
Hazy State – Double Dry Hopped IPA
Jam Up The Mash – Dry Hopped Sour
Ransack The Universe – IPA
Saint Of Circumstance – Citrus Blonde (Ale with Orange and Lemon Zest)
Life In The Clouds – NEIPA
Guava Gose – Guava

However, Collective Arts Brewing does not stop at beer, their creativity can also be found on their cans which are beautifully designed by skilled artists, who each have their own original artistic identity. Ery Burns is a graphic artist with a zany, bold illustration style that takes inspiration from everyday life, to the weird and wonderful. Mat Miller likes to draw intricate illustrations, mainly of animals and Toby Brunsdon has a more abstract style, specializing in ‘zentangle’ art which involves structured patterns to form a larger piece. These artists will be holding a panel talk focusing around the theme of Art and Brewing, to shed light on the process that goes into creating amazing beer art.

Collective Arts Brewing encourages any budding artists attending the Takeover to submit their own art for the chance to be featured on a limited edition can in the future. This unique opportunity uses beer as an excellent platform for up-and-coming musicians. To date, Collective Arts Brewing has used over 650 artists and musicians on limited edition cans and bottles.

The Collective Arts brewers will be also available throughout the night to talk in depth about their passion for beer and the arts. There will also be the opportunity for guests to have one on one conversations in ‘meet the brewer’ sessions, which are a great chance for beer lovers to find out more about craft brewing.

On the night there will be a range of delicious street food options that have been designed to be paired with beers. Guests can try these as part of their meal deal ticket.
