Once again, sustainability is at the heart of this edition, with articles focusing on:
- The Commission’s Green Deal and its notable pieces of regulations, such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the Green Claim Directive
- The Product Environmental Footprint tool, and how it helps breweries measure its environmental footprint
- Efforts towards Green energy by Kamenitza brewery in Bulgaria
This edition also covers the 2023 malt and hops report which witness how challenging climate change has become and how impactful it is on beer’s raw materials. These two reports give strong indications of where raw materials availability is going and lays down some reflections on how farmers, together with brewers, should work to develop solutions.
In this edition, you will also discover a preview of what the brewing community can expect in Lille, France, on the occasion of the 39th EBC Congress and 6th Brewers Forum, an event where more than 1000 representatives of the brewing sector will meet, as well as how activities are popping up across Europe to boost beer tourism and promote our beautiful sector towards consumers.
The next edition will be published on the 15th of May and distributed in a paper version at Lille 2024.
Cheers !
Your BrewUp Team
