So, Mr. Osbourne has kept the pesky beer duty escalator, which means duty is set to rise 5% from midnight on Sunday – what a surprise. Yes, the budget has been announced but if you think this issue is going away now, you’re wrong.
I’m urging you, my band of wenches and squires to show your aggravation by signing my e-petition to stop the beer duty escalator from causing further damage.
At the time of penning this email 12,900 people have showed their support for the great British pub by signing my petition – in just three weeks! I need 100,000 signatures to force this matter within the House of Commons.
I’ve already visited the House of Commons once and recruited 14 MPs including Greg Mulholland, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group to support the campaign within their constituencies. Mark my words, I’m not afraid to go back to Westminster and cause a commotion, but I’ll take 100,000 signatures with me next time!
I’m urging all wenches and squires to not just accept this tax rise on our beer and show support for pubs across the land by: signing the petition, displaying the campaign poster, wearing the t-shirt, downloading the screensaver at www.wychwood.co.uk/bpny_screensaver and most importantly – visiting your local pub.
IT’S TIME TO TAKE ACTION!
